Rainbow Snippets – 23 November 2019

Happy weekend, everyone! Unfortunately I didn’t manage to write much this week – I’ve had nearly 10 days of being ill (only a bad cold, but enough to make me want to lie on the sofa instead of sit up and work on my laptop). Oh well, I’m back to it today and wrote about 1000 words this afternoon. I’ll be lucky if I get to 20k for NaNo but I’d signed up for it to get me motivated to write SOMETHING rather than a target of words, so that worked anyway.

Here’s another snip from Favourite Toy 2. It’s New Year’s Eve and Dean has taken Casper out for a romantic evening and to see the London fireworks. Ryan and Remy stay home with several bottles and cocktail recipe book. Is it going to be a recipe for disaster?

“What’s funny?”

I realised I was chuckling quietly to myself when I met Remy’s surprised gaze.

“Just thinking about last year. I don’t remember most of it, I was that drunk. I felt like hell the next day. Spent most of it throwing up. Dean and Casper didn’t let me forget it for weeks. They had to call Casper’s grandad to come and get us.”

Remy giggled. “I remember Casper telling me. They had to stop twice and lean you out of the car so you could puke in the gutter and not all over them.”

“Oh, God,” I groaned. “They must have forgotten to tell me about that part. Don’t worry, I don’t plan to get that drunk tonight.”

“It doesn’t matter at home. Drink as much as you like. I plan to.” Remy grinned and toasted me with his tequila sunrise.

“Fair enough. I’ll make the next one.”
