Rainbow Snippets – 9 November 2019

Well, so far so good with NaNoWriMo. I won’t make the 50k and didn’t intend to, but it’s got me into the routine of writing every day so far and my total word count at the moment is 10,770 (which is about 10k more than I would have done otherwise!) If I can make 25 – 30k by the end of the month I’ll be very happy.

In last week’s snippet from Favourite Toy 2, Ryan and Remy watched a film together, and Ryan was uncomfortable in Remy’s presence. Why? He gets the feeling Remy “likes” him and he doesn’t want to encourage it because Remy’s his housemate, Remy’s Casper’s best friend, Ryan isn’t sure he likes Remy, but he is sure he’d be lousy company because he doesn’t know what he wants.

In this week’s snip, the four housemates have gone to a club and Ryan’s in a bad mood. Casper doesn’t help.

“Where’s Remy?” Casper appeared at my side.

“He left.”

“What? He went home? On his own?”

“He’s a big boy, Casper. I’m sure he can make it home by himself.”

“Of course he can. But you could have offered to keep him company.”

“I’m not his babysitter,” I snapped.

“Wow, you are in a foul mood tonight. Maybe you should go and fuck somebody and take the edge off.” Casper glared.

I swore under my breath. I couldn’t help my mood. Everything about my life frustrated me at the moment, apart from my job. I was sick of being alone, but had tried dating, tried a casual fuck, and neither one did anything for me. I gulped my drink, pushed away from the bar, and left the club without another word.

  1. Poor Ryan… sweet how Casper is looking out for Remy though. I love all the strong emotions – even as I feel for the three of them!
