Happy weekend, Snippetteers! I signed up for NaNo this year. I haven’t done it for a couple of years, but I really need to finish Favourite Toy 2 and my current Fanfic so I thought I would do it. I won’t write 50,000 words, but it’ll give me the motivation to get stuck in. I need about 10-15,000 words to finish FT2 so at least I should do that, plus maybe 15,000 on my Joker story 🙂
Anyway, here’s another snip from FT2. Ryan realises it’s time to end things with clingy Tristan, but while talking to Remy about it, he finally catches on that the new housemate likes him and he isn’t sure that’s a good thing as yet.

I shrugged and sighed. “I might stay single for now and see what happens.”
Remy’s eyes brightened, and he smiled again. He would never make a poker player. I needed to be careful. I didn’t want to encourage him, even inadvertently, and end up making him more miserable.
“What were you watching on TV?” Remy’s voice interrupted my thoughts. “I heard screaming.”
“A horror film. I can change it if you want to watch something.”
“I don’t mind watching it. Casper makes me out to be a big cry-baby over horror films. I’m not really. I just don’t like a lot of gore.”
“It’s not gory. It’s creepy and supernatural.”
“Okay.” Remy followed me back into the living room and settled on the sofa when I took up my usual place in an arm chair.
We watched the movie, and occasionally I glanced at Remy from the corner of my eye, noticing him cringing, biting his nails, and screwing up his face every so often. He hated the movie but watched it to please me. I rubbed the back of my neck as I grew more uncomfortable.
