Hey, Snippetteers! The intrepid explorer is back. I had a fantastic time in Russia on Mount Elbrus. The team didn’t make the summit due to dangerous weather conditions, but we made it to 4700 metres. The experience was amazing, I met some wonderful people, made new friends, tried new food, and learned new skills with crampons and ice axes. Roll on the next adventure!
I spent some time catching up on the last couple of weeks’ snippets, but I’m a bit late actually getting my own posted. We’re still with The Power of Will. In my last snippet on 29 June, Tyler had a mysterious meeting with William – or did he? Today’s snippet follows on directly from the last one.

“What the fuck?” I gasped the words out loud as I threw back the bed covers and sat up. A dream. I’d conjured him up in my imagination after reading the journal. But it had seemed so real. I could still feel his smooth, cool palm against mine, and see the shine in his eyes after I told him he was gorgeous. He’d been so real and yet—he wasn’t. I didn’t even know if William Bartlett had looked anything like the young man in my dream. For all I knew he could be blond, blue-eyed, and ugly as sin. But inside I knew he wasn’t. As weird as it was, I knew exactly what William had looked like when he was alive.
I lay back against the pillows, the thud of my heart loud in the silence of night and my upper body slick with sweat. Groping for my phone, I checked the time and groaned. Not even four o’clock and I knew I wouldn’t sleep anymore. The imaginary encounter with William had got me too worked up. I closed my eyes anyway and tried to relax enough to slip away, but all I could think about was the journal. I needed to know more about him.
