Rainbow Snippets – 26 January 2019

Happy weekend, Snippetteers. Thank you everyone, who sent good wishes last week about my mum. She’s had a fairly good week and has been able to get out of the shopping with my dad. She has an appointment with the doc next week and should find out then when her surgery will be.

I have had a really busy week – hectic at work, and I’ve started training for a half-marathon, so three early morning training runs in sub-zero temperatures before work *shiver*.

Anyway, here’s my snip of the week from Favourite Toy 2. Ryan has been for a swim and afterwards, meets a potential date working in the coffee shop near the pool. Foolish guy – it takes him a while to realise there’s someone for him right under his nose.

“You like swimming?”

“No, not really. But I like swimmers.”

“What’s your name?”

“Tristan.”

“Ryan.”

“Nice to meet you, Ryan.” He offered me a slender hand to shake, fingers tipped with nails painted the colour of his hair. I shook and held on for a long moment while I thought about what to say next. What did I want? He clearly liked me, so would it be another P.J. or something else? I’d been completely dissatisfied when I got home after P.J. and part of me had sincerely wished I hadn’t done it.

“You fancy going out some time?” I asked.

“That would be nice. What do you have in mind?”

“Few drinks in a bar? Get to know each other and see what happens?”

    1. Poor Ryan doesn’t know what he wants – he’s tried the one-nighter, now for the dates (with completely the wrong person).
