Good morning, Snippetteers! Hope everyone’s had a good week. Mine was manic and stressful with work, but now I have a whole week off to enjoy. I’ll be writing, cross stitching, running with the dog, going out for motorcycle rides, and seeing friends. Unfortunately my motorcycle helmet is kaput, so my first job is buying a new one this afternoon. I also have a new toy to play with. I bought a multi-gym which was delivered a couple of days ago and is in its boxes in the garage, so I have to build it so I can use it in my utility room.
Anyway, in last week’s snippet Ash and Sean were meeting the rest of their trekking group the night before the start of their adventure on Kilimanjaro. Now the group is enjoying a BBQ and Ash decides to take a step forward with Sean.

“I never asked before,” he whispered in my ear. “Are we just mates here? I don’t want to out you if you don’t want them to know.”
I glanced over my shoulder. “We’re together. Dave knows, so why would I care if a bunch of people I just met know?” I leaned closer and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. “But thanks for asking.”
“Aww, are you two dating?” Claire cooed from behind Sean. “That’s sweet. How did you meet?”
“On a training weekend in Wales.” Sean turned back and regaled Claire and Sally who hung off his every word, with the exaggerated romantic tale of how we fell for each other on a cold damp mountain in the middle of the night. I chuckled as I listened to the amusing story, punctuated with laughs from the girls over Sean’s repeated lateness since that first day, despite his keenness to get to me on each occasion.
By the time we’d filled our plates with chicken, beef, pork, rice, and a variety of salads, and taken a table with Claire and Sally, most of the group were aware we were boyfriends. “I thought as much,” Gerald commented and winked at us. “The looks you two gave each other in Wales, it’s a wonder you didn’t set fire to that youth hostel.”
