Happy weekend, Snippetteers! So far it’s been a tiring one for me, running with the dog, then lugging furniture about. I had a new bed delivered earlier in the week that I put in the garage, so I had to get the oldest bed out of the house, move the semi-new bed into the place of the oldest bed, and get the brand new bed unwrapped, up the stairs, put together, and I still have to make both beds when all the bedding comes out of the washer and drier! Phew!
Anyway, welcome to another week of great snippets. If you’re new to this, authors post links to 6-line teasers from LGBT+ stories to whet your appetite for some amazing stories. Check out the group HERE.
I have more from Ash and Sean (well, just Ash really). Ash’s best mate Dave comes to visit and immediately catches on that something’s up.

“So, what the fuck happened to you?” He leaned back in the armchair he’d settled into and crossed one ankle over the other knee.
“What do you mean? You know I’ve been driving.”
“I didn’t mean that. You look like someone kicked your puppy.”
“I don’t have a puppy.” My brow furrowed and I glared at my friend.
“Figure of speech. What made you look as miserable as sin? Was Wales shit, or what? Realise you’re not up to it?”
“It was fine. My legs ached a bit and I got blisters, but nothing I couldn’t handle.”
“So, what else happened? Is Chris okay? And your nieces?”
“Yes. I assume. I haven’t heard from him.”
“What is it, then?”
“Nothing!” I barked.
“You met someone.”
I sighed. Was I that obvious?
“Come on. Who is she? Did you meet her in Wales?”
“I didn’t meet anyone.”
“You did. I know something happened. You’re never this miserable. You met someone for the first time in ages that you like and you miss her. Right?”
“Fuck off, Dave. You don’t know anything.”
