Rainbow Snippets – 10 March 2018

Happy weekend, Snippetteers! It’s a wet day here, but much warmer than it has been. Doggie and I had fun playing fetch in the pouring rain this morning 🙂

Welcome to another week of great snippets. If you’re new to this, authors post links to 6-line teasers from LGBT+ stories to whet your appetite for some amazing stories. Check out the group HERE.

I have more from Summit, by upcoming novel about two guys who meet while training to climb Kilimanjaro.

In this snip, Ash and Sean’s training weekend in Wales has come to an end. Ash leaves Sean in his tent alone and heads for home, thinking they won’t see each other again until their flight to Tanzania.

“Bye.” He remained in the tent entrance, watching as I unzipped the outer part and set off down the lane. I glanced back once, but I couldn’t see whether he was still there or if he’d retreated inside and zipped up. Pulling up my hood against the rain, I shoved my hands into my pockets and strode down to the village, barely noticing the pain in my legs. More noticeable was the lump in my throat and the ache in my chest. I didn’t want to leave him and I didn’t want to contemplate the many weeks until I saw him again at the airport. Despite what we’d said, I didn’t consider we’d see each other before then. It just didn’t fit in with what I had in mind for myself.
