Rainbow Snippets – 3 March 2018

Morning, all! It’s a freezing, snowy day here in my little town, although the temperature is supposed to lift a bit tomorrow and melt the snow and ice. My dog has been loving the snow, throwing himself about in it like a little kid.

Anyway, it’s time for another snippet from Summit, my current WIP. Last week Ash and Sean had a steamy moment and there was much more of that between them later. Now it’s the next day and Sean isn’t his usual self. Is he getting too fond of Ash, perhaps?

“Are you all right?”

“Yeah. Just a bit tired.”

“Me too.” I was sure it was more than that. He wasn’t himself and even after only two days, I felt like I knew him a little. His bubbly enthusiasm was missing and I knew it wasn’t tiredness. We’d all been tired on the mountain summit at four in the morning, but he’d kept everyone’s spirits up with his constant chatter. I felt down, too, and it was due to us having to say good-bye at the end of the day. Knowing it would only make things worse, but unable to stop myself, I pulled him close to me and brushed my lips against the tip of his crooked nose. When his eyes widened, then crinkled at the corners, I kissed him more firmly, on the mouth this time. His response was filled with longing and he held tight to me as we kissed and sheltered from the rain. I drew away only when the sound of voices and boots on the path reached us.

Don’t forget to check out the other Snippets in the group HERE and feel free to join in. Rainbow Snippets is the place where authors post links to 6-line teasers from LGBT published works or WIPs. You may find your next favourite read in one of the threads.
