Happy weekend, Snippetteers. Hope you had a great week and are looking forward to some more great snippets.
In the Rainbow Snippets group, authors post links to 6-line excerpts from WIPs, published works, or recommendations from LGBTQI stories. Check out the group and find your next favourite read 🙂
I have another teaser from my upcoming release, Separation, due out March 31. In last week’s snippet, Tremaine was in hospital, but what happened to him? The next day when Matt grabs his arm and he winces in pain, he spills the beans.
“Let me see.” Matt carefully grasped my wrist and pushed up my sleeve to reveal the bandage that ran from wrist to elbow. “What the fuck? This happened last night?”
“Yeah, there was a fight in the bar. I tried to break it up and ended up being the one injured.”
“What did this?” Matt’s eyes widened in horror as he released my arm and rested his hand on my shoulder instead.
“Oh, my God. Did you report the guy?”
“Not yet. I was too busy getting carted off to the hospital. I’ve got seventeen stitches.” Suddenly I wanted to tell him everything. This was my only relative, someone I’d longed for and hoped one day I’d find. The concern on his face told me it wouldn’t matter what I said; he’d be on my side. The gentle squeeze of his hand on my shoulder encouraged me and I blinked away the welling tears.
Matthew Langford is told on his twenty-first birthday that he has a twin. After the initial shock, he quickly realizes this is why he always felt part of him was missing. His search takes him 200 miles to Devon, UK, where he meets fraternal twin, Tremaine Wheal.
The pair discover many things in common, and quickly become as close as if they’d never been separated. But when they share a moment in a nightclub, each realizes there is more between them than having shared a womb. Panic sets in and they part. Once again their separation brings loneliness and pain.
Eventually, unable to stay away from each other, they tentatively move forward together as lovers. But secrets don’t stay secret for long, and discovery and questions threaten their happiness.
This is a taboo story featuring twins.
