Rainbow Snippets – December 24, 2016

24-december-2016

Merry Christmas, Snippetteers! Who’s snippeting this weekend? What’s on your agenda for Christmas? Here in the Lyons household, it’s just me and Casper for Christmas Day. I have toys and treats wrapped up for Casper, and gifts for me with labels on saying they’re from Casper. I wonder when he went shopping for a ladies watch, a CD, and a collectible figure he knows I want? 😀

I’ve got one of those giant turkey legs and I’m going to make my mum’s recipe chestnut stuffing, roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts, parsnips and carrots, followed by Christmas pudding and brandy sauce. Casper will get some cold turkey mixed into his puppy food. Then my partner is coming down on Boxing Day to stay three days.

Anyway, this week’s snippet. Release day for Regeneration is creeping closer. I have sent out materials for official cover reveal posts on December 30, and release day is January 15, 2017. For my snippeting friends, though, you’ve already seen the cover and I now have links, so if you fancy pre-ordering for your Christmas stocking, don’t let me hold you back! 😀

So, if you’re new to Rainbow Snippets, check out the group HERE on Facebook. Authors post links to 6-line teasers from WIPs, published works, or recommendations. For the past few weeks, my snippets have been from Regeneration and that will continue until it’s release.

Blurb

In the 23rd Century in the galaxy of Sigma Kappa, Kim Fortune was the first surviving experimental enhanced human—a regenerate. Aged fifteen, he escaped the lab and years later, his failings as a regenerate and the suspicion of regular humans, leave him lonely and lacking in self-worth. Stranded on an abandoned planet, the arrival of a stricken ship and its crew give him hope that he may finally find what he always longed for—love.

Christian Novak is a successful regenerate with all the intended attributes—including lack of human emotion. Despite their immediate attraction to each other, Kim’s failing confidence, and Christian’s inability to empathize are a recipe for disaster. But war, imprisonment, and danger throw them together, and after each saves the other’s life, their feelings begin to change.

Can a seemingly unsuitable pair ever find love, or is a future together destined to fail?

Snippet

This one is a NSFW snippet. Kim tries not to think about Novak, but it ain’t working!

* * * * *

It didn’t take long. With one hand pumping my erection and the other squeezing and tugging my balls, I came hard, spurting onto my T-shirt. I managed not to cry out, but I panted for breath, my chest heaving. It took a few minutes for my heartrate to settle, before I peeled off the sticky T-shirt. I couldn’t deny Novak had been part of the fantasy that got me off. I remembered the heat of him and the way he nibbled at my neck, while he held my braid to prevent my escape. I pulled up my boxers and lay down again, leaving my upper body uncovered. In the aftermath of orgasm, I relaxed enough to sleep.
